General FAQs

How is concierge care different?

In a nutshell, a concierge medical practice is limited in size to several hundred patients – rather than the several thousand that is typical in conventional medical practices. This allows your concierge doctor to devote more time and personal attention to each patient. At Adult Medicine Concierge, we see a limited number of patients per day – significantly less than the typical 25 per day seen in conventional medical practices.

Having fewer patients allows Dr. Irma Lopez to offer:

  • Same-day or next-day appointments with little or no wait time
  • Longer visits with the doctor that are never rushed
  • More personalized care
  • 24/7 access to the doctor via private phone number
  • Other important healthcare amenities

If Dr. Lopez is already with a patient when you call, a detailed message will be taken, and your call will be returned promptly, ensuring your question or issue is addressed in a timely fashion.

What are Dr. Lopez’s qualifications?

Dr. Lopez is board-certified in internal medicine and has been treating patients from Palm Beach County since 1997. For more information, see Dr. Lopez’s bio.

How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment, call our office at (561) 745-7878 between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

For patients new to our practice, getting started is as easy as submitting your request for a free meet-and-greet with Dr. Lopez. One of our helpful staff members will get back to you promptly.

Established patients can also visit our secure online patient portal at any time of the day or night to request an appointment, message our team, and much more. If the matter is urgent, call the doctor’s cell phone number you were provided when you joined Adult Medicine Concierge.

What are your office hours?

We are open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Do you make house calls?

Weekend visits and house calls are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Visits to your home or other locations are determined by the circumstances of the patient, in the case of illness or convenience.

New patient visits and annual executive physical exams will always be conducted in the office.

What happens if Dr. Lopez is out of town?

When Dr. Lopez is on vacation or unavailable, she will appoint a highly trained and qualified physician to provide call coverage for her.

What happens if I need to see a specialist?

Dr. Lopez is happy to provide any necessary referrals, so you can see any specialist you prefer. She can help you decide what specialists to see, coordinate the consultations, and send your medical information in advance of your specialist visit.

“Dr. Lopez is like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. My husband and I are both huge advocates of this brilliant, caring, and incredible diagnostician. Another amazing and incredible attribute of Dr. Lopez is her ability to really listen to your issues, and she always comes up with the perfect solution.”

Concierge Membership FAQs

Are you currently accepting new members?

Yes, we are currently accepting new members into our concierge care program.

What’s included with membership?

As a patient member of Adult Medicine Concierge, you’ll enjoy access to highly personalized care and attention by a board-certified internal medicine physician.

Membership includes:

  • An annual executive physical exam
  • One hour of nutrition support, with the option to purchase more nutritional services
  • 24/7 phone/email access to your doctor for urgent consults
  • Same-day or next-day appointments when needed
  • Minimal or no wait time
  • Long, unhurried visits with your doctor
Are doctor visits included with membership?

The annual executive physical exam is included in your membership fee.

If you have insurance, we are happy to bill your plan for your office visit or telehealth consult. You will still be required to pay any applicable co-pays or deductibles at the time of service.

What about medications, X-rays, bloodwork, specialists, or hospitalizations?

It is your responsibility to pay for your medications, diagnostic testing (including lab tests, X-rays, etc.), treatments, specialist care, hospitalizations, or other services. Procedures and services performed in any other medical office or facility will be billed by that provider or entity and covered by your insurance plan as specified. For this reason, the vast majority of our patients choose to keep their health insurance to help cover these costs.

Your annual membership fee pays for membership at Adult Medicine Concierge and its associated benefits.

What is an “executive physical exam”?

The most noticeable difference between an executive physical exam and the more traditional type of annual physical you might receive at a conventional medical practice is our thoroughness. You can expect this exam to last approximately 1-2 hours.

Our annual executive physical exams are in-depth and more comprehensive than anything you’ve likely experienced before. This allows Dr. Lopez to make targeted, personalized recommendations that will allow you to live your healthiest, happiest life. You are also able to review your records, including the test results and doctor notes from your executive physical, at any time through our secure online patient portal.

How long is an average doctor visit?

Every patient’s needs are different. That said, the average time you spend with Dr. Lopez when you visit our office is 30 minutes or longer. This is significantly more time than you can expect at a conventional medical practice, where your time with your physician typically runs between 5-10 minutes.

Can my spouse or adult children be included in my membership?

Spouses are considered individual patients, so each requires their own membership.

Members with adult children between the ages of 18 and 25 get free membership for those adult children as a part of their Adult Medicine Concierge membership.

Can Dr. Lopez treat me if I am hospitalized?

Yes. Dr. Lopez has admitting privileges at Jupiter Medical Center and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. If necessary, specialists may be called in to assist, and Dr. Lopez will coordinate and oversee each hospital admission

Fees, Costs, and Insurance FAQs

How much does membership cost?

There is an annual fee of $3,500 for an individual to become a member of Adult Medicine Concierge for a 12-month period.

Annual membership fees are due at the beginning of the membership period. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards.

Do I still need insurance?

Yes. We recommend our patients retain their traditional health insurance to help pay for any medically necessary services, medications, or treatments. Our office is happy to bill your health insurance plan for your office visits. You will still be responsible for paying any deductibles or co-payment, as dictated by your specific insurance plan.

Concierge membership is NOT health insurance and does NOT cover any medically necessary services.

Is the membership fee covered by insurance?

In the vast majority of cases, insurance does not cover concierge membership fees.

However, certain Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plans may reimburse you for all or part of your membership fee. You should check with your human resources representative or HSA or FSA plan manager to find out.

For the convenience of patients who opt to enroll in our concierge care program, we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Do you accept Medicare?

Yes. Dr. Lopez is a participating provider for Medicare.

You can become a member of Adult Medicine Concierge and use your Medicare coverage to help pay for your medically necessary medications, treatments, and services.

Do you accept Medicaid?

We do not accept Medicaid at this time.

Is the membership fee tax-deductible?

Check with your tax advisor or accountant to find out whether your membership fee at Adult Medicine Concierge is tax-deductible.

What if I don’t use your services? Do I get my membership fee back?

The annual fee provides you membership in our concierge care practice.

Even if you have zero sick visits over the course of a year, Dr. Lopez recommends you take advantage of the annual executive physical exam. She also encourages you to email her for appropriate, non-urgent medical questions, so you can enjoy optimal health benefits of concierge care.

If you have not received your executive physical exam before you leave the practice, you may be entitled to a prorated refund, minus a $300 administrative fee. If you have received your executive health exam, no refund is available.

If you are a new patient or interested in finding out more about how a concierge doctor can help you, request a complementary meet-and-greet now. We look forward to welcoming you to the Adult Medicine Concierge medical office in Jupiter, Florida.
